Advances in medicine means that if Coronary heart disease (CHD) is detected at an early stage it can be treated successfully to extend the survival rate. Successful treatment is more likely if the disease is detected at its earliest stages. Our current research focuses on the early detection of CHD in order to halt or reverse the progress of the disease.
All the research we support is subject to stringent peer review by external specialists in relevant fields. We are continually reviewing our progress, driving forward new initiatives and pursuing new lines of research.
Your risk of CHD will depend on how many of the above risk factors you have. Some of the risk factors can not be modified, but knowing about them may encourage you to deal with them and take action where possible.More funds are needed to enable the BCRT to continue the innovative & life-saving research.
We are deeply appreciative of the generosity of private individuals and family foundations who have supported BCRT research over the years
